Welcome to the FAQ section! Here, you’ll find answers to common questions about my teaching methods, lesson formats, and how we can work together to achieve your language learning goals. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out—I’m here to help you on your language journey!
Send me an email to info[at]linglane.com to schedule a free trial lesson. You’ll also receive a questionnaire to help me understand your motivation for learning and your previous experiences.
During the trial lesson, you’ll get a sense of my teaching style, and I’ll assess your current level of English. If we’re a good fit and agree on terms, you can choose a lesson package, and we can begin! 🙂
The frequency and consistency of lessons depend on your goals. If you want faster results, it's ideal to have two lessons per week and do additional self-study. Even one lesson per week, combined with regular practice or consistent exposure to the language, can lead to significant progress.
I use a variety of materials, including articles, videos, recordings, games, and other interactive activities. I also use textbooks, especially high-quality ones created by expert teams over several years. The materials in your lessons will be tailored to your specific goals, needs, and preferences.
Every lesson is a bit different, designed to match your level and goals while ensuring regular practice of all skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking), as they all interconnect. Generally, lessons are conversational to provide as much speaking practice as possible. Longer videos, articles, and grammar exercises are often assigned as homework.
This depends on our agreement, but ideally, you should work outside of lessons too. Consistent effort outside class is key to achieving expected results. There are many ways to incorporate English into your daily life, and I’m happy to suggest options that suit you best.
It’s hard to give a precise answer to this question. You can read more about this topic in my blog post– if you’re interested.
If you need to cancel, please let me know at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson (the sooner, the better). If canceled in advance, we can reschedule in two ways: A) another time that week, if available, or B) an e-lesson,where I’ll send you self-study materials and assignments that I’ll review and provide feedback on. This way, you won’t lose contact with the language, and your progress remains steady. If a lesson is canceled late (less than 24 hours in advance), it will be considered completed. The same rule applies to me—if I cancel late, you will receive a free extra lesson.
If you’re on vacation or sick, we can arrange: either to skip a lesson that week or switch to an e-lesson. If you have a busy schedule or can’t commit to regular lessons, I recommend considering a mentoring program, which offers more flexibility.
